冬去春来，万物蓬发之际，美丽的宿迁迎来了来自大洋彼岸的加拿大渥太华格兰尚中学的客人。在薛启书市长、汤成军局长、市外办张岩主任、庄永之书记等市领导的见证下，宿迁市苏州外国语学校与加拿大渥太华格兰尚中学签署了友好学校备忘录。
Spring is coming and thewinter goes away, Suqian Suzhou Foreign Language School welcomed guests from GlashanPublic School of Canada. In the witness of Mayor Xue, Director Tang, Directorof the Foreign Affairs Office Miss Zhang, Chairman Zhuang, SuqianSuzhou ForeignLanguage School and Glashan Public School signed the agreement for“Friendship School”Linkage and Cooperation.
3月12日上午10:50，会议室宾朋满座，友好学校签约仪式正式开始。薛市长在讲话中表示：渥太华格兰尚中学，底蕴深厚，特色鲜明，是一所享负盛名的百年老校；相对年轻的宿迁苏州外国语学校坚持尊重学生的独立和个性，营造一种人与自然和谐共生的学校文化，寻求学生的最佳成长之路。中加双方学校虽然语言不同、地域相差，但在教学理念上都有非常相似的契合点，相信在以后的交流中能实现优势互补，合作共赢的良好局面。
At 10:50 am. on March12th,the meeting room is full of guests.The signing ceremony isofficially started. Mayor Xue said: Glashan Public School isa famous andhistorical school. The school is characteristic and world-famous for 135 years.Although relatively young, SSFLC respect students’ independence andindividuality, creating the harmonious school culture, searching for the bestgrowing way.Though the two schools differ in language and region,they are similarin teaching theories. We believe that we can realize advantageouscomplementarities and promote common development.
接着，我校徐学根校长发言。徐校长表示：宿苏外一直以“育生命自觉、筑博雅人生”为办学理念，本着增进友谊，共同发展的原则，两校牵手合作，通过缔结国际友好学校，有利于增强中加两国的友好交流，促进两国教育的发展，也能大力促进我校的对外交流与学习工作，提升学校的办学品质。
Andthen,our principal Mr. Xu made a speech. He said our purpose is to“establish agreat school with international vision and make best education for the studentswith world sense.”The two schools collaborate with the principle of commondevelopment. It has a lot of advantages including increasing the communication,promoting the development and helping our school to promote the quality of education.
在经久不息的掌声中，在连续的闪光灯下，宿苏外徐学根校长和格兰尚中学校长詹姆斯·泰勒在合作协议书上签字，并合影留念。随后，中加两校领导互相交换了属于自己国家的特色礼物，表达了他们对对方的欢迎和祝愿。
With the prolonged applause and the continuous flash, the principalMr. Xu and the principal James Taylorsigned the agreement and took photos together.Atlast, the leaders of the two schools exchanged the characteristic souvenirs toexpress their welcome and wish.
两所友好学校关系的建立，标志着我校与国际教育接轨的步伐又向前迈进了一大步。相信宿迁与加拿大城市交往的友谊之花,在双方精心浇灌之下定能结出丰硕成果。本次活动也将进一步开阔我校的办学视野，对学校未来的发展必将产生积极的影响。
The establishment of the friendly schools indicates that our schoolhas taken a great step forwardto integrate with international education.It isbelieved that the friendship between Suqian and the cities in Canada will be promotedunder the careful irrigation of the two sides.Furthermore, this event willfurther broaden our school's vision of running a school, and will have apositive impact on the future development of the school.
